Welcome to the Indian River Flying Club!

On FinalThe Indian River Flying Club was founded in 1991 to provide access to airworthy and dependable aircraft for the member pilots at a low overall cost.  It is a member-owner organization dedicated to providing well-equipped, professionally maintained aircraft.  People who are new to aviation as well as those who are experienced pilots are welcome as members in the Club. Both student pilots and rated pilots are eligible to apply for membership

IRFC started with one airplane and now operates 3 aircraft out of Melbourne International and Valkaria Airport (X59).  Whether you are an aspiring pilot or already have a license, IRFC is right for you.  We have many members who are Certified Flight Instructors who can help you receive your Private Pilot, Instrument, and advanced ratings.  Recurring training is also available to keep your flying skills sharp too.

Club aircraft may be used for business or pleasure in accordance with FAA regulations and with approval of the Board of Directors. The Club is governed by an elected Board of Directors. Elections are held each year in December. Each member of the club is an equal shareholder in the corporation. While the aircraft are held in the corporate name, members fly the aircraft as owners outright.

Monthly club meetings are held to keep the membership informed and to conduct business of the club as required. Each member has one vote at each meeting.  And you'll learn plenty from the vast experience of the members you’ll meet at our regular monthly meetings.

We are proud to be Brevard's largest flying club!

The lowest cost flying in Brevard and Indian River Counties!

Indian River Flying Club membership let’s you fly at the lowest cost in the area.  The Club is operated as a Not-for-Profit organization dedicated to keeping the costs of flying as reasonable as possible.  All members are the plane owners outright.  All charges for flying are a direct result of covering expenses incurred and explicitly not for developing profit.  So, we can offer attractive rates and other benefits to our member-owners.

All of this means you can still attain that dream of flying – without breaking the bank.

There’s never been a better time to join the Indian River Flying club and become a pilot.  Already a pilot but want to add an instrument or commercial rating?  IRFC can help you do that too.  The not-for-profit structure of the club allows you to get your private pilot license or new rating at a cost lower than a flight school – really!  And, you’ll have the quiet confidence you can only get from flying an airplane you own a part of.

Meet with a number of different FAA Certified Flight Instructors (CFI) in the club, and you can pick one that fits your needs and personality the best.  You’ll find that Instructor rates are also lower than what you find in local flight schools.  But, that doesn’t mean you’re scrimping.  Like local flight schools we have excellent young, experienced CFIs as well as many instructors with thousands of hours of experience.  You pick!!
